Nvidia have officially announced a new version of their Quadro FX 4800 graphics card developed specifically for use with Apple’s Mac Book Pro which comes complete with a 3-pin stereo connector promising ‘true stereoscopic imaging’.
“Some of the world’s most challenging visual computing problems are solved on the Mac platform,” said Jeff Brown, general manager, Professional Solutions, NVIDIA, who introduced the Quadro FX 4800 graphics card for Apple’s Mac Book Pro. “The Quadro FX 4800 provides the power and speed to meet these demanding requirements.”

This particular iteration of the Nvidia Quadro FX 4900 Graphics Card naturally shares the same specifications of its PC based counterparts in offering 76.8GB/s memory bandwidth, 192 stream processors, 1.5GB frame buffer and maximum power requirement topping out at 150W - as well as the aforementioned 3 pin min-din connector for stereo glasses support - and is set to commence shipping from May for a cool $1,799 a pop.
